Starting Stalls
Starting Stalls are an essential component of our business, combining our strength in logistics and project management with an innate understanding of racing and horsemanship. Each race meeting on the flat requires a minimum of 11 fully trained and BHA accredited stalls handlers which are increased for fields of over 20 runners in line with BHA regulations.
The internationally used Steriline starting stalls units are specially modified for use in the UK to meet the very highest safety standards and are adapted for use on all UK racecourses. The 10 bay stalls units are moved during a raceday by 4×4 vehicles to each start, and can be transported between racecourses on the public highways using our dedicated mini articulated tractor units and purpose built trailers.
RaceTech operates two maintenance and storage bases where the 10 bay units are returned over winter for annual maintenance and inspection. Larger 14-17 bay Steriline starting stall units are dedicated to individual racecourses where they are housed permanently with annual maintenance carried out on site.
RaceTech works closely with the racecourse officials, the Clerk of the Course, the Starter and their supporting officials, to ensure the safe and timely load before each race and carries out stalls tests before racing upon request.
