Job Purpose

RaceTech is looking for an experienced audio engineer to deliver our race day public address service, audio system design, manage audio installation projects and the maintenance of installed systems.

You will have a solid audio engineering background, applied in production and installation. The majority of systems used are based on 100V line distribution, so a good understanding of how these work is needed, as is knowledge of digital and analogue-based audio systems and experience with sound systems for emergency purposes.  Familiarity with RF systems and radio communications equipment, as well as AV experience would be an advantage. An occasional requirement will be to provide race day PA cover for major race meetings and making announcements throughout the meeting, so you must be confident with public speaking.

With a strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills, you will have good management skills, as you will run a team of subcontract staff who operate the racecourse sound systems on race days.

There will be extensive UK-wide travel to racecourses as well as liaison with third parties (building contractors etc.) and our own race day staff. Frequent weekend and bank holiday working will be considered normal in this role.

  • Good working knowledge of current digital signal processing (DSP)-based audio technology.
