RaceTech has been involved with pony racing for a full season now and is proud to announce that we are continuing our support of young riders for the coming year both as part of the highly successful racecourse series and also in conjunction with the Point to Point Authority supporting pony racing between the flags.
As “Partners in Pony Racing”, RaceTech will sponsor the provision of entries and results in the Racing Post Weekender, ensuring that young riders will get the opportunity to see their names in the most popular racing newspaper. Entries will be published correct as of time of going to press and results will be published the week after racing. This new initiative in 2011 was hugely successful and we are very pleased that we are able to continue publishing Pony Racing results alongside Point-to-Point results. There are approximately 87 Point-to-Point fixtures now staging Pony Racing, across three height categories (up to 128cm, 138cm and 148cm) designed to encourage young riders into racing competitively, and the sport has already seen several young jockeys graduate onto horses both between the flags and under Rules.
In addition to the results service, RaceTech is also delighted to sponsor a number of National Championships to find the Best Rider in each height category based on accumulated points, as well as the Best Pony (both height categories), and Best Graduate for the rider with the most points who is moving on to horses the following season. Each winner will receive prizes in kind from RaceTech and be invited for a day’s racing as RaceTech’s guests, with the opportunity to see the RaceTech operation in action on a racecourse.
In addition, RaceTech will partner the Charles Owen Racecourse Series to sponsor a Best Turned Out award for pony racing on racecourses. The Charles Owen Racecourse series starts in April 2012 and runs throughout the summer, with the Finals taking place in the Autumn. Winners of the RaceTech Best Turned Out award will receive prizes in kind and will be judged by the Stewards in the paddock.
RaceTech is proud to be involved in pony racing and wishes all the participating young jockeys lots of luck for the coming season. |
